Bachy Soletanche is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for three categories at the prestigious Federation of Piling Specialists (FPS) Awards 2025, a significant accomplishment given the highly competitive nature of the awards.
Our shortlisted entries include:
- Sustainability Award – Sustainable CEM VI Limestone Fines Cement:
Bachy Soletanche, in conjunction with Canary Wharf Contractors, Arup and London Concrete, developed an innovative CEM VI concrete mix that cut embodied carbon by 13%, marking the first UK use in deep foundations and setting a scalable model for industry adoption.
- Geotechnical Team of the Year – Eden Dock Bridge Marine Piling:
Working in partnership with Canary Wharf Contractors, Arup & Red7Marine, the team delivered two 2.1m diameter marine piles above live tunnels with exceptional precision, pioneering the use of CEM VI concrete and eliminating confined space risks through collaborative innovation.
- Project Leadership Award – Paul Keime, One North Quay:
Paul was recognised for outstanding leadership on Europe’s largest life sciences building project, introducing the UK’s first fully electric concrete pumps and delivering a 180 tCO₂e carbon saving.
This achievement reflects Bachy Soletanche’s unwavering commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainability, which is driving progress in ground engineering and setting new benchmarks for the industry.
The FPS commented:
“This year, the FPS received an exceptional 40 entries across seven categories, each highlighting the industry’s innovation, skill and dedication to best practice. Our distinguished panel of judges faced the difficult task of selecting the finalists from a wealth of outstanding submissions.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony on Friday 21st November at the Hilton London Bankside Hotel. The event, hosted by Alexander Armstrong, alongside FPS Chair Malcolm O’Sullivan, promises an evening of celebration, networking, and recognition of excellence across the piling and ground engineering sector.
