We are proud to announce that Bachy Soletanche has once again been recognised for its outstanding commitment to health and safety, having received the RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) President’s Award for achieving its 11th consecutive Gold Award.

This prestigious honour reflects our health and safety performance throughout 2024 and is awarded to organisations that have maintained RoSPA Gold Award status for 10 to 14 consecutive years, demonstrating sustained excellence and an unwavering commitment to keeping people safe.

Why We Won: Key Safety Initiatives

In 2024, these important key initiatives contributed to us reaching this milestone:

  • Incident Investigation Training: In partnership with QBE Insurance, we launched a new training programme for managerial staff, focusing on high-potential incidents (HIPOs) and local-level learning to improve incident response and prevention.
  • 1App Safety Reporting System: We introduced 1App, a digital platform that allows employees to report non-conformances and incidents, as well as recognise safety best practices. Integrated with Power BI, the app enhances data visibility and is set to evolve into a central hub for site operatives, offering access to procedural forms and instructional videos.

This recognition places Bachy Soletanche among a distinguished group of organisations that champion the wellbeing of their people and lead by example in safety performance.

Barry Major, Health and Safety Director at Bachy Soletanche, commented:

“This is a tremendous achievement for the business and a clear demonstration to our clients that health and safety remains a fundamental value at Bachy Soletanche. While the evidence supported our submission, it was the dedication, initiative and drive of our employees that truly earned this award. My thanks and congratulations go to everyone involved.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Growth Director, added:

“Bachy Soletanche should be proud of the hard work and commitment to keeping people safe that has resulted in a RoSPA Award, which honours those organisations who have achieved the highest standards in health and safety in the workplace. RoSPA regards Bachy Soletanche as a strong example of the importance of making accident prevention central to any successful organisation, not just for the benefit of employees, customers and clients, but also society as a whole.”
