Bachy Soletanche and Kilnbridge launch UrbanCore to deliver integrated solutions for complex urban construction.
Bachy Soletanche and Kilnbridge have today announced the launch of UrbanCore, a strategic partnership designed to make the delivery of complex urban construction projects simpler, safer and more certain for clients. By bringing together two best‑in‑class specialists in ground engineering and structures, UrbanCore offers a single, integrated package that removes the risk and complexity typically sitting between separate work packages.
Created in response to the increasing technical, logistical and commercial challenges of building in dense city environments, UrbanCore focuses on commercial developments and basement‑led schemes where multiple interfaces can introduce programme delay and cost uncertainty. The partnership eliminates those interfaces by aligning teams early and taking collective ownership from ground through to structure.
UrbanCore provides a fully coordinated scope covering demolition and dismantling including material reuse, advanced foundations, reinforced concrete and steel frames, and complex basement and structural works. For clients, this means simplified procurement, clearer accountability and a more straightforward way to manage the most critical phases of delivery through a single, aligned team.
Unlike traditional subcontracting models, UrbanCore is built on early collaboration across design, engineering, commercial and delivery disciplines. This integrated approach addresses common urban challenges such as constrained access, neighbouring assets, ground risk and sequencing complexity, improving buildability, programme certainty and control of cost and risk on highly constrained sites.
The partnership is already being proven across a number of projects, with Bachy Soletanche and Kilnbridge working together to deliver complex substructure and structural works, including projects such as One North Quay, Canary Wharf.
Owen Dannatt, Chief Executive Officer, Kilnbridge, said:
“UrbanCore brings together two specialists who understand how risk builds up between packages on complex urban projects. By integrating teams from day one, we remove those gaps and give clients greater certainty on programme, cost and delivery from ground to structure.”
Tamas Kaltenbacher, Managing Director, Bachy Soletanche, said:
“UrbanCore is an exciting new partnership, founded on a shared commitment to work more closely with our clients from the very start. By bringing together two engineering focused teams early, we can offer a fully integrated solution that simplifies delivery and reduces risk on complex urban projects.”
UrbanCore has been established as a focused partnership, giving clients access to proven technical capability, aligned teams and a lower‑risk approach to delivering the most challenging elements of urban construction.
